    We are proud to share that the Lake Wales History Museum received a $12,000 grant from the Mountain Lake Community Service organization. This funding supports the first phase of transforming our back freight room into a fully functional program space and rental venue, The Freight.

Step back in time at the 50th Annual Lake Wales Pioneer Days Festival, a milestone celebration honoring five decades of preserving and sharing the rich history and enduring spirit of Lake Wales and Polk County.

Scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026, this free community heritage festival invites families, history enthusiasts, and visitors from near and far to explore a vivid tapestry of life in early America. Enjoy a full weekend of historical demonstrations, artisan craft markets, and live entertainment, offering something for every age and interest. Guests can savor traditional festival foods and celebrate local legends through the Pioneer of the Year Award. Join us at Lake Wailes Park for an unforgettable journey through the past and a historic 50th anniversary celebration for the entire family.
